St Gothard Hotel Review - Arinsal

In February 2005 we stayed at the St Gothard Hotel in Arinsal Andorra. We found the St Gothard to be a basic but clean hotel, in a reasonable location. The hotel is situated near the bottom of the steep hill that runs right through the village. The regular free ski bus picked up right outside the door saving you from a ten minute uphill walk to the gondola.

Our food was included in the price and consisted of a buffet style breakfast and dinner. I am a particularly fussy eater but I still managed to find plenty of fairs to satisfy my taste. Nightly entertainment was put on in the bar by an English man who organised quizzes and activities, he was also a talented musician.

The only downside of this hotel was that the only snowboard storage was in the underground car park and there were no lockers. We were slightly concerned by this as we had just bought brand new boards, and felt that it would be easy for someone to walk in off the street and steal them. We solved this concern by purchasing a snowboard lock and locking them to the rack. We did not hear of any equipment being stolen from the garage while we were there, but most was locked up so it seemed like the right thing to do.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the St Gothard and would gladly return there.
